We like that the treadmill is simple to assemble, and will take between 30 minute to an hour for most individuals. For the money, this tops our best treadmill under $500 due to its features and higher powered motor.

Those looking for a machine that’s more compact, you can give this unit a look. Similarly priced to the Weslo treadmill above, it has a much slimmer design and is lighter in weight. The unit also folds up much better. If bulk and size is a concern this is a better option.

Featuring 12 training programs built into the system, it offers more variety compared to the Weslo above. It does however only go as high as 7.5 MPH which for most of us is more than enough for running.

While you can run on it, the unit however is more ideal for jogging and walking as it has a much shorter running track of 43.5 inches. The width of the belt measures 15.75 inches wide. The low height of the deck makes stepping on and off the machine much easier than some of the higher units.

Exerpeutic Fitness Walking Electric Treadmill

Exerpeutic Fitness Walking Treadmill

Made for brisk walking, this is a good piece of equipment for getting and keeping in shape. It does not have the same speed capability of the other treadmills in our reviews above because it is specifically designed for indoor walking.

Its 1.5 HP motor allows the tread belt to go as fast as 4 miles per hour. Controls are available in both the main digital panel as well as the hand rails which are fitted with up and down arrow buttons that can be used to alter the pace. You can adjust the speed of the belt in increments of 0.1 MPH allowing for gradual increases.

Among the features we like most are:

  • the high user weight capacity of 400 lbs.
  • the wide 20 inch belt (the length of the belt is 40 inches in case you’re wondering)
  • folds up vertically straight up making is take up a small amount of space when stored

The width of the belt and weight capacity are among the highest around this price range. For added safety, the side handrails are made extra long.

All in all, this treadmill has some of the better features among the units available in this price range. The one this to note is that it is designed for walking speeds only.
